We hope this series gives you more insight into their hearts, lives, and work ethic.
In this article, we will be focusing on Rebecca Ramage and her journey as a wife, mom, and business owner. Keep reading to learn more about one-half of Lake Country Growers!
Q & A With Co-Founder Rebecca Ramage
Q: How does CBD fit into your everyday routine?
A: I take 50mg of CBD daily. I typically take it right before I work out, and I jokingly call it my secret weapon. I find it helps me feel more focused and helps me feel my best. I think about CBD as a part of my everyday health routine. As long as I eat right, drink water, exercise daily, and take CBD, I know I’m on the right track.
Q: When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? Has this influenced your lifestyle today? If so, how?
A: I wanted to be a Park Ranger. I've always loved the outdoors and learning about the world around me. This curiosity has definitely spilled over into LCG and learning about hemp plants and how the Endocannabinoid System works.
Q: What are your biggest values in life?
A: If time/freedom qualifies as a value, I would say that. I think that’s the getaway that allows you to access and prioritize all of your personal values, whether that be family, hobbies, wellness, etc. I want to spend my time doing things I choose.
When I work hard, I want it to be for my livelihood and those I care about. For example, I love being an entrepreneur because it allows me to call the shots and create my own schedule. I am able to work around my family and other priorities in my life like working out, self-care, travel, and more.
Q: If you could only give your children one piece of advice, what would it be?
A: Only one - eek! LOVE. I encourage them to give and receive love in all things. As cheesy as it may sound if we strip back all that we do, whether that be work, play, friendships, or sports, love is at the root of everything. When you do things with love, you have a fulfilled life.
I would tell them that they’ll excel in whatever they choose to do because it is driven by love. When life gets tough, tackle your challenges with love. And as the good book states, 1 Corinthians 13, faith, hope, and love, and the greatest of these is love.
Q: What does a day in your life look like?
A: No two days are the same! Here is an example of what a day in my life could look like. I drive McAllister to school, and we get to jam to "his" music. Then I try to get in a morning workout class with my YMCA tribe. I love the support and friendship that has come from our YMCA community. I work on LCG from my home office with my good boy, Camo, by my side.
We eat dinner really early around 4:30 pm, because our kids have sports, and John coaches high school girls' lacrosse. After they all leave, I wrap up any leftover projects, do laundry, and tackle anything that needs to be done around the house. Lastly, I try to squeeze in a show with Addison before bed. We are watching Game of Thrones right now. Sometimes I’ll also jump in our hot tub, which is one of my favorite places!
Q: How do you balance being a wife, mom, and business owner?
A: The first rule of fight club is there are no rules. It’s kind of like that in life. Balance? There is no balance. One day I feel like I’m crushing parenting, and the business is in chaos. The next day I feel like we are crushing business, and I forgot to make dinner.
Bottom line: I don't take myself too seriously, and that's how I keep the “balance.”
Q: What is the most rewarding aspect of the work you do?
A: The most rewarding thing is definitely hearing the stories of how our products have impacted people. It really makes me smile.
Q: How do you stay productive on days when you feel burnt out?
A: One thing…THCV!!
Q: What are your three guilty pleasures in life?
A: First of all, Schwan's Ice Cream (they deliver), day dates with my friends &/or husband (I feel like I’m playing hooky) and growing Dahlias (I’m obsessed).
Q: What are your aspirations for the future?
A: Definitely to travel as much as possible with my husband and kids.
Q: How do you and Moe maintain a healthy working relationship? Has it always been naturally easy to be co-founders?
A: We are like peanut butter and jelly. We are good on our own but better together. Yes, we are opposites in many ways but similar in others, so we each bring our strengths to the table. We are kind of like a married couple, we may disagree at times, but we always find a way to figure it out. People laugh sometimes because we speak our own language, and we know what the other one is thinking most of the time!
