How many CBD treats do I give to my dog?

The safe, daily CBD concentration is determined by your dog's weight:

Under 17lbs: 1 treat per day

17lbs-34lbs: 1-2 treats per day

35lbs-51lbs: 2-3 treats per day

51lbs+: 3-4 treats per day

How to give CBD dog treats to your pet?

Our CBD pet treats come in the form of small cookies, which are easy for your dog to chew and digest, so you can give them as a treat just like you would any other type of food. They don't taste like medicine or anything adverse that your pet would refuse to eat. The amount of CBD oil in each is small enough not to change the taste of the food, so your pet won't realize they're eating anything special.

If your dog is comfortable eating from your hand, you can drop a CBD dog treat right into their mouth. However, some dogs are very suspicious of this method and will simply refuse to eat. If your dog is one of those dogs, try hiding the CBD dog treats in their favorite food so they don't realize that there's anything unusual about the food they're eating.

Will my dog taste the CBD in the treats?

Our crunchy CBD dog treats are made with delicious peanut butter and honey that your dog will love. The amount of CBD oil used in the recipe is minimal so that it won’t affect the taste of the treats. You don't have to worry that your dog won't enjoy this nutritious snack. Just make sure that your dog doesn't get too many treats throughout the day – you should always stick to the recommended dosage of dog CBD treats.

You can mix CBD treats with your dog's favorite food. This way, you can easily incorporate CBD into your pet's daily diet without having to worry about them rejecting it.

What are the benefits of CBD dog treats?

CBD dog treats may help with itchiness, behavior problems, joint health, anxiousness with seperation, and overall calming. They can be beneficial for senior dogs and puppies that tend to be more anxious, stressed out, or hyperactive.

CBD is not sold as a medical product.

Calming & Anti-Anxiousness

CBD has been shown to have anti-anxiousness properties for animals, and is a non-psychoactive compound. When you first introduce CBD treats to your pet, start with a small amount of high-quality CBD extract.

The amount of CBD in each of our CBD dog treats is relatively small, so you can give your dog one or two treats a day and see how they react to it. The effects of CBD oil should start within an hour, so check on your dog after a while and look for any changes in their behavior. If you see that your dog is in a calm and relaxed mood, it means that you've calculated the amount correctly. Remember to not give your dog too many treats (or too much CBD) throughout the day to not spoil your dog's wellness.

It is worth noting that CBD dog treats are not yet FDA-approved, and you should always ask your veterinarian before giving them to your pet.

We also offer CBD oil for dogs which you can apply in many ways, but CBD treats for dogs are sometimes an easier way to start out!

How long do the CBD dog treats last?

Just as with the amount, the time it takes for CBD to start taking effect on your dog will depend on a variety of factors, including your dog’s weight, age, metabolism, the state of their overall health, and how much CBD has been given. In general, it is recommended that you give it about thirty minutes to an hour to see results.

Typically, the effect of CBD treats will last from four to six hours.

Are there any side effects of CBD for dogs?

Unfortunately, CBD comes with a few potential side effects. The most common is a mild drop in blood pressure. This is more likely to occur if your dog takes too much at once or has never been given CBD before.

Other possible side effects include excessive sleepiness, lightheadedness, thirsty behavior, or diarrhea brought on by changes in appetite or digestion rate. With CBD dog treats, the risk of side effects is lower than with CBD oil for dogs, as they contain a lower concentration of cannabidiol.

The best way to avoid any unwanted side effects is by giving your dog a small amount of CBD and monitoring the reaction before giving them more.

What do the CBD dog treats contain?

Our CBD dog treats only contain natural ingredients like peanut butter, honey, oatmeal, brown rice flour, and broad-spectrum CBD extracted from USA-grown hemp. Every treat has 2mg of CBD, so check the guide above to see how many treats to give your dog per day. You shouldn't exceed the recommended amount if you don't want your dog to get the runs or other unwanted side effects.

Common side effects of CBD in dogs may include drowsiness and an upset stomach, as CBD may influence how your pet's digestive system and central nervous system work. If your dog does experience an upset stomach, try cutting the treats in half or giving them less frequently until your pet's system adjusts to CBD.

How do I store my CBD dog treats?

Unlike some CBD oils and tinctures, our CBD dog treats don't have to be refrigerated. However, you should still store them in a cool and dry place where they will stay away from direct sunlight or excessive heat. Failing to do so may cause your CBD treats to spoil a lot faster than you would have expected, both when it comes to the potency of the hemp oil and the quality of the treats.

You should also keep your CBD dog treats away from pets and children.

What is Hemp?

Hemp is a variety of the cannabis sativa plant grown specifically for industrial and medicinal purposes. It is tall, with few branches and long, narrow leaves. The hemp plant is very versatile, as it can be grown to produce a high-quality fiber used to make textiles and rope, or it can be refined into an oil and used in a variety of products.

Hemp is known to yield CBD at 20% or more, making it a great source of CBD oil. To abide by legal regulations and be sold legally in the US, along with many other countries, it must contain less than 0.3% THC – the compound found in marijuana responsible for the feeling of "high." It's worth noting that while the safety margin of THC for humans is quite extensive, dogs are about five times more sensitive to it.

All of our products, including these CBD dog treats, are made from American-grown hemp, and we make sure to source only the highest quality ingredients.

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol, the compound known as CBD, is one of over 113 active cannabinoids found in the hemp plant. It is believed that cannabinoids interact with receptors located throughout your body’s endocannabinoid system, which is responsible for maintaining homeostasis in your body – the process of achieving balance in the various systems. CBD is non-intoxicating and does not produce a high.

CBD oil is extracted from the hemp plant and contains a variety of compounds. Then, the oil is further refined to remove unwanted compounds and achieve a final product that is highly concentrated CBD. There are two main types of CBD products: full-spectrum and broad-spectrum. Full-spectrum CBD oil contains a variety of other compounds from the hemp plant in addition to CBD, including terpenes, flavonoids, and other cannabinoids. Broad-spectrum CBD is similar to full-spectrum but has had the THC removed to 0.0%, making it safer for your pet.

Through lab processes, we are able to draw out these cannabinoids, resulting in CBD-rich hemp oil, which can be used for various purposes, from CBD tinctures to topicals and edibles. Our CBD Treats are made with CBD-rich broad spectrum premium hemp extract along with natural ingredients and a specially formulated formula for your pets.

What’s the Difference Between Full-Spectrum CBD and Broad-Spectrum CBD?

Our CBD dog treats are made with broad-spectrum CBD, which means it contains natural ingredients from the hemp plant, without THC – the element of the plant that gets you high. This is also where lies the difference between broad-spectrum CBD and full-spectrum CBD. Full-spectrum CBD oil contains all the compounds found in the hemp plant, including a very small amount of THC (0.3% or less). Broad-spectrum CBD oil contains all the compounds found in the plant, but 0.0% THC, which makes it a safer product for dogs and other pets.

The other type of CBD you’re likely to find on the market is called CBD isolate. This is the purest form of CBD and contains only one compound from hemp – the cannabidiol itself. While this is a highly effective product, broad-spectrum CBD may be more beneficial because of the other compounds found in the hemp plant – terpenes, flavonoids, and other cannabinoids – that may work together to create an entourage effect.

We use broad-spectrum CBD because it contains 0.0% THC and full of other beneficial compounds of the hemp plant.

Is CBD safe for dogs?

In short, yes, CBD is safe for dogs. The research concerning CBD oil use in animals is still in its early stages, but the initial studies suggest that dogs tolerate cannabidiol well.

It’s important to remember that while CBD dog treats are considered to be safe, pet owners may want to consult with a veterinarian before giving their dog any type of supplement, including CBD oil if they are taking any medications. According to the American Kennel Club, CBD can interfere with the metabolization process of metabolic-dependent drugs, meaning it could affect the way your dog metabolizes certain medications.

Human-grade CBD products aren't always designed for pets, so always look for CBD dog treats that are specially formulated for dogs. These products will have the correct amount and be safe for your dog's health. If you buy CBD dog treats online, always confirm that the ingredients, CBD amount, and manufacturing process are all pet-safe.

Are CBD treats for dogs legal?

Our CBD dog treats are sold under the same laws that govern the sale of CBD products for humans. Since all our CBD treats are derived from hemp plants with THC levels at 0.0%, they can be freely bought, sold, and delivered within the US.

All of our CBD products abide by the federal and state regulation of hemp-derived CBD.

What to look for when buying quality CBD dog treats?

Apart from the absence of THC, you should also look for other ingredients included in the pet CBD product. You should stay away from artificial flavorings and colorings, as well as excessive amounts of sugar and sweeteners. Just as you do your best to provide your pet with the healthiest foods, you should also make sure that the CBD treats you buy are not packed with unhealthy ingredients.

In addition to this, you should also look for a trustworthy source for CBD dog treats. Our products are made from Wisconsin-grown hemp, meaning that you get high-quality products that are compliant with all the local laws. Apart from this, the CBD treats for dogs are specifically made to be easily digestible for your furry friends.

These dog treats were just what we needed heading into the 4th of July. Our pups do not appreciate the fireworks and we saw a huge difference in behavior as they seemed less anxious over the holiday weekend.

I started giving these to my dog about 8 months ago. She has anxiety from abuse she received by a former owner when she was a puppy and these are amazing for giving her a sense of calm. I am never without them now. Lots of desensitizing and these treats are working well….

Our dog is 40# and I started him a month prior on one treat then I increased him to two dog treats the week prior to fireworks. I totally believe they helped him, he was nervous over two really loud booms from the city fireworks but otherwise he was awesome. Thank you and he loves these treats!
